What makes Barra's writing so unique is the fulfilling life he has led thus far. His plentiful experiences allow his words to be both inclusive and thought provoking, with a suspenseful twist.
PAUL A. BARRA
Before transitioning to a full-time novelist, Barra served as the senior staff writer for the Diocese of Charleston and earned accolades as a freelance magazine writer. His previous four books have been shortlisted for prestigious awards such as the Thriller Award of the International Thriller Writers, the Chanticleer International Book Awards, and the Tuscany Prize.
Paul A. Barra holds a Bachelor of Science from Niagara University and a Master of Science from Loyola University of New Orleans. Barra was also a naval officer, accumulating a wide range of knowledge throughout his time serving. Barra earned a Bronze Star with Valor “V” along with the Combat Action Ribbon and numerous other awards for his service on the rivers of the Mekong Delta.
Paul Barra and his wife, Joan, raised eight children in their home in Conway, South Carolina. Moving up to Reidville, South Carolina later in life, the Barra's also raised a multitude of animals ranging from alpacas, to chickens, to a vigilant burro named Cletus. Along with eight children of his own, he has fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He then became known as "Papa". Barra brings an emphasis on helping others and selflessness to his personal life.
